comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Kohalik Turg, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions
and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. Platform Description
Kohalik Turg is a neighborhood bazaar-style marketplace that connects local sellers (vegetables, meat, fish,
flowers, fruits, sweets) with customers in their area. The platform enables:
- Customers to discover and purchase products from nearby sellers
- Sellers to list products, manage orders, and track earnings
- Location-based product discovery within 2km radius
- Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
- Users must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Mobile numbers must be valid and verified
- Users are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality
- Each user can create only one account
3.2 Account Types
- Customer: For purchasing products. Free registration.
- Seller: For selling products. Requires subscription.
Important: Sellers' location information is locked after registration.
This ensures delivery accuracy and prevents misuse.
4. For Customers
- Registration is free and no hidden charges apply
- All payments are Cash on Delivery (COD)
- Products are shown based on your GPS location within seller's delivery radius
- Cart items are reserved for 30 minutes
- You must provide the correct OTP to receive your order
- You agree to provide accurate delivery information
- You are responsible for being available to receive the order
5. For Sellers
- Must have a valid subscription to list products
- Zero commission on sales - keep 100% of your earnings
- Location is locked after registration for delivery accuracy
- Responsible for product quality, freshness, and accurate pricing
- Must deliver within the specified delivery radius and time
- Must update product inventory daily (products are auto-deleted at midnight)
- Must verify OTP before handing over orders
- Responsible for all interactions and transactions with customers
6. Subscriptions & Payments
- Sellers must purchase a subscription to sell products
- Subscription fees are fixed and non-refundable
- Subscription duration is customized (configurable)
- Sellers can extend subscription at any time
- No commission is charged on any sale
- All payments to Kohalik Turg are for subscription only
- Customers pay only for products and delivery charges
7. Product Listings
- Products can only be listed for the current day (auto-deleted at midnight)
- Only one image per product is allowed
- Products must be accurately described and priced
- Available quantity must be accurate
- Prohibited products: illegal items, hazardous materials, age-restricted items
- Products go out of stock automatically when quantity reaches zero
8. Orders & Delivery
- Orders are processed when items are in the cart (30-minute hold)
- OTP is generated for each order at placement
- OTP is visible only to customers (not sellers)
- Delivery must be completed within the promised timeframe
- Order status flow: Ordered → Out for Delivery → Delivered
- Sellers can mark orders as "Out for Delivery"
- Delivery is completed only after OTP verification
- Invoices are generated for every completed order
9. Cancellations & Refunds
- Customers can cancel orders before they are marked "Out for Delivery"
- Once "Out for Delivery", orders cannot be cancelled
- Refunds are not applicable as all payments are COD
- For disputed orders, both parties must contact Kohalik Turg support
- Subscription fees are non-refundable
10. Prohibited Activities
Users are prohibited from:
- Creating fake accounts or impersonating others
- Listing fake or non-existent products
- Manipulating prices or availability
- Sharing OTPs with unauthorized persons
- Using the platform for illegal activities
- Harassing other users or sellers
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempting to bypass security measures
11. Intellectual Property
- Kohalik Turg name, logo, and branding are protected by copyright
- Sellers own the rights to their product images and descriptions
- Customers may not reproduce or distribute platform content without permission
- All platform code and design are proprietary
12. Limitation of Liability
- Kohalik Turg acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers
- We are not responsible for product quality, freshness, or accuracy
- We are not liable for disputes between buyers and sellers
- We are not responsible for delivery delays or failures
- We do not guarantee availability of any product
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the subscription fee paid (if applicable)
Disclaimer: Kohalik Turg provides a platform for connection only.
All transactions are between buyers and sellers. We do not warrant the quality, safety,
or legality of any products listed.
13. Termination
- Kohalik Turg reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
- Sellers with inactive subscriptions may have their products hidden
- Users can delete their accounts at any time by contacting support or from their My Profile Page
- Upon termination, pending orders will be cancelled and refunds processed (if applicable)
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms
or your use of Kohalik Turg shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of
the courts in Hooghly, West Bengal, India.
